GPT Image 2.5 is OpenAI's next-generation image generation and editing model, replacing Images 2.0 in ChatGPT: lighting looks more natural, textures are richer, subjects from your reference photos stay recognizable, and it follows editing instructions more reliably across multiple turns. Generation latency drops by up to 50% versus the previous model, so iterating on a concept feels noticeably quicker.

The API offers two tiers: Flare (gpt-image-2.5-flare) brings the same gains in quality, editing and speed for everyday and batch work, while Sunburst (gpt-image-2.5-sunburst) trades longer generation times for extra precision on detailed creative work.

Called through XylemNode, it shares the same address and account as the text models, making it easy to bring image capabilities into your apps and workflows.
